Ferrari's navigation system did not survive competition with Apple and Google
Ferrari will completely remove its own navigation system from its cars. The Italians believed that it is more convenient for drivers to use maps via Apple CarPlay or Android Auto
This innovation will apply not only to the new Purosangue and 12Cilindri, but also to other models with the function of updating the operating system via the Internet. According to the brand's chief marketer Emanuel Carando, navigation that works via a smartphone and transmits images to the display of the multimedia system is “the most convenient and modern.” Due to the fact that Apple and Google maps are constantly updated, drivers often prefer them over the built-in maps in the car.
Today, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto systems are, one might say, mandatory functions in a modern car. Their functionality allows you to expand the capabilities of the car's multimedia system thanks to a personal smartphone. But not all automakers support this. For example, General Motors plans to completely abandon Apple CarPlay and Android Auto in favor of its own systems.
