Porsche is finishing road tests of the new generation Cayenne SUV, which will be shown at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September this year. The prototypes were almost completely devoid of camouflage, and almost completely exposed the appearance of the production model.

As expected, Porsche took the evolutionary path in updating the exterior of the SUV: the Cayenne is the company's best-selling model and radical changes could scare off potential buyers, especially owners of the current generation of cars.

The most visible changes are concentrated in the front part: the Porsche Cayenne will have a seriously changed radiator grille, which will receive chrome horizontal stripes. Apparently, the designers decided to bring the Cayenne closer to the company's passenger cars, but for now it looks like… Volkswagen.

But the interior of the SUV will be completely transformed. A virtual instrument panel based on a widescreen will appear here, the arrangement of buttons on the front panel and central tunnel will be completely changed, a new infotainment system will appear.

The new generation of Cayenne is built on the MLB Evo platform, which gave life to the current Audi Q7 and Bentley Bentyaga. This means that the SUV will become significantly lighter, which will lead to increased efficiency. This will allow the V6 and V8 engines to be kept in the range, including their fairly powerful versions. Also, the Porsche Cayenne will have a hybrid version with a power plant from the Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid with a capacity of 680 hp.
