Porsche to bring new generation Cayenne to Frankfurt
German company Porsche is preparing to present a new generation of the Cayenne crossover at the upcoming International Motor Show in Frankfurt.
The German automaker has entered the final phase of development of the third generation of the Cayenne crossover. The car is currently undergoing road tests in winter conditions, where it was caught in the sights of the lens without camouflage. And judging by the published photos, after the change of generation, the design of the car will not undergo any radical changes. The most significant innovation in the exterior will be an active spoiler, which will change its position depending on the current speed.
The new generation of the crossover will be based on the global platform of the German concern VW AG – MLB Evo, on which many Audi and Volkswagen cars are built. According to the company, thanks to the use of this architecture, the total weight of the new Porsche Cayenne was reduced by 100 kg.
The dynamic characteristics of the crossover have not yet been disclosed, but earlier official representatives of Porsche said that the new crossover will claim the title of the fastest model in its segment. According to the head of the research and development department of the German automaker Wolfgang Hatz, the main competitor of the new product will be the Bentley Bentayga.
According to preliminary information, under the hood of the new generation Porsche Cayenne will be a turbocharged gasoline V8, which will be able to provide the car with a maximum speed of 300 km/h. In addition, a hybrid engine is expected to appear in the engine range, which will include a three-liter V6.
As already mentioned, the new product will be presented “live” at the upcoming motor show in Frankfurt, which will take place in the fall of this year.
