The new Ford Mustang will get a manual transmission
It's an interesting thing – in the mass segment, car enthusiasts have to pay extra to get a car with an automatic transmission, but in the sports car segment, it's the other way around – people pay just for the “mechanics”
This is easy to explain – most car manufacturers have long switched to the use of automatic and robotic transmissions, but some users want to feel the drive, so they put a manual transmission in the price lists as an exclusive option.
Ford is one of few who still remember the manual gearshift mechanism. It was recently revealed that the Mustang model will definitely get a “manual” gearbox. According to earlier information, the new Mustang will retain not only the gearbox, but also two engines of its predecessor – a four-cylinder turbocharged 2.3-liter EcoBoost engine and a five-liter Coyote V8, but the latter will probably need modifications to fit into the stricter emission standard.
