The legendary Ferrari F40 will look for a new owner next year
The American auction house Mecum will put up for auction a unique example of a 1992 Ferrari F40. It is noted that this example has been preserved in perfect condition. The auction will begin early next year
In total, the Italians assembled 213 of these cars for the US market, 22 of which were released in 1992. According to the description, this example has traveled 8,688 miles (approximately 13,981 km), having managed to win the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance in August 2021. The car is also certified by the Ferrari Classiche program.
Under the hood is a 2.9-liter turbo V8. The power of this unit is 478 hp at 7000 rpm. It is paired with a 5-speed manual transmission. This engine allows the F40 to accelerate to 100 km/h in just 4.1 seconds and reach a top speed of over 320 km/h.
Let us remind you that the Ferrari F40 was released in 1987 in honor of the 40th anniversary of the company, as evidenced by the name of the supercar. The F40 was the last model to be created during the lifetime of the company's founder Enzo Ferrari. A total of 1,315 copies were produced in the world. Today, F40s that are in perfect condition are valued at $2,000,000 or more.
