Porsche Cayenne gets a hybrid version

Following the release of the new generation Porsche Cayenne, the company also introduced its hybrid version. The company promises its exceptional efficiency.

The SUV's power plant consists of a three-liter turbo engine with a capacity of 340 hp and a 136-horsepower electric motor, and a total of 462 hp. The SUV accelerates to 100 km/h in exactly 5 seconds, its maximum speed is 253 km/h. On electric power alone, the Porsche Cayenne E-Hybrid can travel up to 44 kilometers at a speed of 135 km/h.

The average fuel consumption in the new European driving cycle (NEDC) is, depending on the set of tires used, 3.4 – 3.2 liters of gasoline per 100 km and 20.9 – 20.6 kWh of electricity per 100 km.

The Cayenne E-Hybrid has a significantly increased battery capacity and therefore an increased electric range, as well as expanded Boost capabilities: compared to the previous model, the capacity has increased from 10.8 kWh to 14.1 kWh, i.e. by 30 percent. The battery is liquid-cooled and is located under the boot floor at the rear of the vehicle. The high-voltage battery is fully charged in 7.8 hours via a 230 V socket with a 10 A fuse. If the optional 7.2 kW on-board charger and a 230 V socket with a 32 A fuse are used as an alternative to the standard 3.6 kW charger, the battery is fully charged in just 2.3 hours.

The charging process can be monitored and controlled via Porsche Communication Management (PCM) or remotely via the Porsche Connect app. The autonomous air conditioning system, i.e. heating and cooling of the interior, can also be controlled via smartphone when the ignition is switched off. Porsche Connect allows charging stations to be searched for, sorted and their coordinates to be transmitted to the navigation system. The new Porsche Charging service provides access to charging stations from various operators without additional registration. Payment is made directly via the Porsche ID account.

With the launch of the Cayenne E-Hybrid, Porsche has expanded the range of options and driver assistance systems across the entire model series with a whole range of innovations. For the first time, a head-up display is available at Porsche. It projects all relevant driving information into the driver’s field of vision in full colour. In addition, the Cayenne is now available with a digital “navigator” Porsche InnoDrive with adaptive cruise control, seats with massage function, heated windshield, independent heater with remote control and 22-inch alloy wheels.

Russian sales will start at the end of May this year. But the Russian representative office has already announced prices, which start at 6,934,000 rubles.
