Porsche Wants to Enter Car Sharing in Russia

Porsche has announced its plans for development in the Russian market in the near future. The most important and anticipated event is the start of sales of the new Porsche Cayenne. Prices and orders will be announced on January 15 next year, but the first “live” cars will only arrive to customers in May.

At first, dealers will accept orders exclusively for gasoline versions of the SUV. In the summer, its hybrid versions should appear, including the Porsche Cayenne Turbo S E-Hybrid with a power plant of more than 600 hp. But the diesel versions are still in question. Due to another round of Dieselgate, this time with turbodiesels, which were installed on the VW Touareg, Audi Q7 and Porsche Cayenne, the German company decided to hold off.

In principle, these environmental horror stories should not have bothered us: we were selling a car with a lower environmental class anyway. But sales of diesel Porsche Cayenne are vanishingly small and, naturally, no one is going to make them specifically for Russia.

And Porsche also wants to be represented in the Moscow car sharing service (short-term car rental without a driver). No, of course, we are not talking about some 6-8 rubles per minute (this is how much the cheapest options with Hyundai Solaris or Kia Rio cost). The cars will be available for rent for at least two hours, will be available to customers with a very high rating (it depends on the frequency of use of the service) and will certainly not be cheap. In Europe, car-sharing Porsches cost at least 200 euros per hour.
